The Karya Kreatif Mataraman 2024 event achieved a business matching milestone for UMKM products amounting to IDR 3.3 billion and financing business matching worth IDR 1 billion to three local UMKMs. Moch. Choirur Rofiq, Head of Bank Indonesia (BI) Kediri, emphasized BI's ongoing efforts to strengthen UMKM development programs through digitalization and expanding domestic and export market access. This includes fostering leading UMKMs to support the creative industry, export activities, and women's empowerment. During the event's opening on Saturday (June 29, 2024), Rofiq stated that BI Kediri continues to collaborate with local governments across 13 districts/cities to promote digitalization through the acceptance of Quick Response Code Indonesia Standard (QRIS) and the electronicization of local government transactions (ETPD) to accelerate regional economic growth. Zanariah, Acting Mayor of Kediri, expressed gratitude to Bank Indonesia, especially KPwBI Kediri, for consistently assisting, educating, and supporting Kediri's economy, particularly through UMKM empowerment. She highlighted that many UMKMs in Kediri, mentored by BI, have successfully engaged in business matching, upgraded their operations, and penetrated export markets. She also called for a more diverse range of UMKM support, noting that woodcraft UMKMs from Kediri have successfully entered export markets.
Bandoe Widiarto, Acting Head of Bank Indonesia Representative Office for East Java, noted that Karya Kreatif Mataraman aligns with BI East Java's initiatives to support the Proud of Indonesian Products Movement, the Proud of Indonesian Tourism Movement (GBWI), and the Road to Creative Works Indonesia (KKI). Events like Java Coffee Culture (JCC) and the Peneleh Festival, held in July 2024 in Surabaya, aim to promote Java coffee and Peneleh Historical Village as new tourist destinations. Istianah, owner of OG Jewelry from Pacitan, emphasized the importance of exhibitions, such as those organized by BI Kediri, for marketing UMKM products, particularly her jewelry art based on Pacitan stones, which has garnered international buyers. Tiwi Pontjowati, owner of Alya Batik from Trenggalek, highlighted that through local government and BI support, her batik shirts have reached export markets via Sarinah Jakarta. With the operation of Dhoho Airport in Kediri, she hopes that the premium hand-drawn batik market will further expand, benefiting from the growth in tourism.
