The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy Eases Activity Permits to Boost the Economy

The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraft) has introduced digital event licensing services to stimulate Indonesia's economy. Minister Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno announced that this initiative, launched by President Joko Widodo on June 24, aims to streamline the organization of national and international events, thus enhancing economic activities across the country. Sandiaga stressed the importance of seizing this opportunity to attract more visitors through events like music concerts, thereby boosting local economies. This move to digital event licensing responds to the needs of approximately 4,000 national and international events, projected to generate around IDR 170 trillion in economic impact.

The Makassar Music Conference (MMC) 2024, organized by Prolog Fest from June 28-30, serves as a prime example of this initiative. Sandiaga participated in the event as a speaker, engaging with local artists and highlighting the ministry's commitment to supporting the music sector through streamlined licensing processes and comprehensive support measures, including budget allocations aimed at safeguarding intellectual property rights and promoting prosperity within the music industry.
