During her second day of official visit to Japan, Acting Director General of National Export Development, Mardyana Listyowati, met with the ASEAN Japan Center (AJC) officials at the AJC Office in Tokyo on Friday, 28 June. The meeting began with the introduction of Acting Director General PEN as Indonesia's Council Director (CD) to Kunihiko Hirabayashi, who was recently re-elected as Secretary General of AJC for the 2024–2027 term. In the meeting, the Acting Director General expressed her hopes for continued support from AJC for various promotional activities of Indonesian products, particularly those held in Japan. She also invited AJC to participate in the 39th Trade Expo Indonesia, scheduled for 9–12 October 2024 at ICE BSD City, Tangerang, Banten. Secretary General Hirabayashi reaffirmed AJC's commitment to supporting promotional activities from all AJC members, including Indonesia, especially for halal products in Japan. Given Indonesia's status as the country with the largest Muslim population in the world and the growing market potential for halal products in Japan, this support is particularly significant. The Ministry of Trade and AJC will continue to coordinate to support the promotion of Indonesian products, particularly halal products in Japan, through various programs and activities beneficial to both parties. Accompanying the Acting Director General were Secretary of the Directorate General of National Export Development, Muhammad Suaib Sulaiman, and Indonesian Trade Attaché in Tokyo, Merry Astrid Indriasari.
