Indonesia plans to hold the Indonesia-Europe Business Forum (IEBF) again to boost trade and investment cooperation with Europe. Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi has invited several European government officials and business leaders to attend the forum, which is scheduled to be held in Jakarta on October 7-8. “I invite Slovenia, especially its business players, to attend the IEBF in Jakarta on October 7-8,” Retno said during a press briefing following her visit to Slovenia on Wednesday, June 26, 2024. This will be the second IEBF. Similar to the previous event, this year’s forum will be held nearly simultaneously with the Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI).
Europe is a significant source of investment and technology, supporting Indonesia's efforts to enhance industrial and downstream capacity, implement sustainability, and advance creativity and innovation. European countries, particularly those in the European Union (EU), are development partners for Indonesia and potential investors in transitioning to a green economy and developing strategic cooperation in areas such as infrastructure and critical technology. The IEBF combines two forums: the INA-Europe Business Forum and the INA-Central and Eastern Europe Business Forum, which were held separately in 2022.
