Yeka Hendra Fatika, a member of the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia, emphasized that the government needs to implement strategic measures to boost domestic exports, including the provision of necessary facilities. Yeka highlighted that Indonesia's export trend continues to show positive growth, necessitating improvements in the governance of exports and imports to prevent goods accumulation. He recommended that the first step should be the fulfillment of facilities to support the increasing trade trend. Adequate export-import facilities and installations are essential to meet service level agreements and eliminate maladministration. Yeka made these remarks during a public lecture at Syarif Hidayatullah University in Jakarta.
In addition to facility improvements, Yeka pointed out the importance of regulatory harmonization to enhance foreign trade. He stressed that government officials must commit to simplifying and harmonizing export-import regulations in line with the mandate of the Job Creation Law, unless the law is repealed. This harmonization is crucial for creating a more streamlined and efficient trading environment, which will further support the growth and positive trend in Indonesia's trade sector.
