Deputy Minister of Trade Jerry Sambuaga visited the cassava chip factory of the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) Duo Ayu Sehati in Pangkalpinang, Bangka Belitung Islands, today, Sunday (23/6). This visit aimed to observe the progress, production, and facilities of the MSME as part of efforts to enhance the global competitiveness of Pangkalpinang's cassava chips. Also present were Member of Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) Bambang Patijaya and Production Head of Duo Ayu Sehati Hendri. During the visit, Deputy Minister Jerry was accompanied by the Secretary of the Department of Industry and Trade (Disperindag) of Bangka Belitung Islands Province, Deki Susanto. He highlighted that locally exported products contribute positively to Indonesia's trade balance growth. Business players should be optimistic that their products can thrive and compete in the international market.

According to Deputy Minister Jerry, the government is prepared to promote Indonesian products abroad through 46 trade representatives (perwadag) worldwide. These include 19 Indonesian Trade Promotion Centers (ITPC), 24 Trade Attachés (Atdag), Trade Consuls, Indonesian Trade and Economic Offices (KDEI), and ambassadors to the World Trade Organization (WTO). Production Head Hendri of Duo Ayu Sehati mentioned that the enterprise is one of the MSMEs fostered by the Bangka Belitung Islands Provincial Government, focusing on cassava chips as its main product. Apart from cassava chips, Duo Ayu Sehati also produces squid egg chips (kritcu), shrimp paste, powdered shrimp, shrimp and fish crackers, and fish meatballs. The annual production capacity reaches 35 tons. Hendri stated that Duo Ayu Sehati has begun exporting cassava chips to Singapore since early 2024. Their cassava products have been shipped to Singapore four times by mid-year. Hendri also emphasized that Duo Ayu Sehati products have obtained several certifications and legalities such as Household Industry Food (P-IRT), Food Safety (MD), Halal, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). Additionally, Duo Ayu Sehati has secured patents and ensures safe food production with Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) certification.
