Bank Indonesia's Export Kaltimpreneurs Program Produces 62 Potential Export MSMEs

Since 2021, the Export Kaltimpreneurs program by Bank Indonesia (BI) Kaltim Representative has generated 62 potential export MSMEs, with some achieving independent exports worth 2.2 million USD or 35.9 billion IDR to various countries in Asia, Europe, and America. This was announced by Budi Widihartanto, Head of Bank Indonesia Representative Office for East Kalimantan, during the 2024 Export Kaltimpreneurs Open Seminar themed “From Local to Global: Expanding Export Opportunities for East Kalimantan’s Leading MSMEs” at the BI Kaltim Office in Samarinda on June 24, 2024. The seminar included key figures such as Arief Wibisono, Director of Market Development and Export Information at the Ministry of Trade, East Kalimantan's Department of Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, and SMEs, East Kalimantan Customs, vertical agencies, banking representatives, the CEO of PT Nudira Sumber Daya Indonesia, export practitioners, and over 517 participants and MSMEs from across East Kalimantan. Budi emphasized that the achievements should inspire current program participants to achieve independent exports.


The 2024 Export Kaltimpreneurs program includes intensive education, training, and mentoring for export-potential MSMEs in East Kalimantan. Interested MSMEs can register from June 24 to 28, 2024, if their business has been operating for at least one year in East Kalimantan (Samarinda, Bontang, Berau, Kukar, Kubar, Kutim, Mahulu) via bit.ly/daftarEKP2024. Zainudin Fanani, Head of UPTD Cooperative Training of East Kalimantan’s Industry and Trade Department, noted that East Kalimantan's exports rely heavily on non-renewable commodities like coal, making it crucial to support MSMEs in exporting as an alternative source of economic growth.  The Digital Kaltimpreneurs 2024 event continued with an open export seminar. Arief Wibisono highlighted Indonesia's uninterrupted export surplus over 49 months, facilitated by Local Currency Settlement, reducing transaction costs by 1-2% and offering a competitive edge. Ir. Nursyamsu Mahyuddin, CEO of PT Nudira Sumber Daya Indonesia, discussed strategies for local products to penetrate global markets, including identifying flagship products, selecting target countries, optimizing websites with SEO, leveraging digital platforms, participating in trade fairs, and dedicating time to export learning and buyer acquisition.
