The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) highlights Bali as a significant contributor to Indonesia's international tourist arrivals, accounting for approximately 80% or around 17 million foreign visitors this year. Dwi Marhen Yono, Director of Tourism Marketing at Nusanatara Kemenparekraf, emphasized Bali's enduring appeal as a primary destination for global travelers due to its natural beauty, rich culture, and diverse tourist attractions. To bolster foreign tourist arrivals further, Marhen underscored the strategic importance of tourism promotion events such as the Bali Beyond Travel Fair (BBTF) 2024.
This year's fair attracted 370 buyers from 45 countries, including participants from Europe, Africa, Australia, and the United States. The event featured 282 tourism package sellers, including businesses from Nepal, Timor Leste, China, the United States, Malaysia, South Africa, Iran, and Indonesia. The total transaction target reached IDR 7.61 trillion, surpassing the 2023 realization of IDR 6.7 trillion. Bali's prominence as a tourist magnet underscores its pivotal role in Indonesia's tourism sector, supported by robust promotional efforts and international participation at key events like BBTF 2024.
