Bea Cukai Banjarmasin in South Kalimantan (Kalsel) facilitated the first export of husk products to Brunei Darussalam, conducted by PT Rays Export Group. A total of 16,800 kilograms of husk packed into 1,400 bags were shipped to the Southeast Asian country located on the northern coast of Borneo Island, according to Head of Banjarmasin Customs Office R Teddy Laksmana in Banjarmasin on Sunday. Teddy highlighted that this inaugural export underscores the significant potential of husk products in penetrating international markets. In agriculture, rice husk can be utilized as animal feed, mixed into soil as fertilizer, burned for use as charcoal, or employed as a growing substrate. This initial export aims to inspire and motivate other business units to pursue export activities.
Teddy further explained that Customs serves as a facilitator of trade and industrial support, continuously striving to enhance its role in advancing the national economy through the export of regional flagship products. To boost national exports by developing and empowering export-oriented micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), Bea Cukai Banjarmasin provides ongoing assistance to MSMEs to enable their export capabilities. "We regularly conduct training through customs visit customer (CVC) initiatives to offer assistance and directly address the challenges faced by business operators in their efforts to enter international markets," Teddy added.
