He believes that cruise tourism in Jakarta will have a positive impact by increasing the number of tourists visiting the country, thereby potentially boosting the value of the IDR. "The launch of Resorts World One not only establishes Tanjung Priok Port as a port but also as a central hub and destination for more tourists to explore local destinations," said Itok during his speech aboard the Resorts World One ship at Tanjung Priok, Jakarta, on Sunday, June 16, 2024. He is also confident that the luxurious accommodations and facilities on the cruise ship will attract a new segment of cruise passengers, both domestic and international. The Pelindo team is also preparing to meet the growing interest in cruise tourism. Pelindo’s Director of Commercial and Engineering, Ruri Rachmaputri, agreed that public interest in cruises is increasing. "In addition to Jakarta, there are 20 ports in Indonesia ready to serve as entry points for cruise ships," said Ruri.
Among these 20 ports are Labuan Bajo, Medan, and Jakarta. "With more tour offers, we hope more tourists will come, and more locals will become accustomed to cruise tourism," she added. Ruri noted that ports accommodating cruise ships are quite different from other ports, requiring specific facilities that Pelindo must prepare. "We will provide the necessary infrastructure. Typically, cruise ships require lounges for passenger waiting areas, aerobridges, and other specific facilities," said Ruri.
