The Indonesian government, through the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP), is committed to enhancing "Blue Natural Capital" as a means to preserve and restore natural ecosystems. This investment supports sustainable and resilient marine ecosystems, forming the foundation for a sustainable blue economy. Victor Gustaaf Manoppo, Director General of Marine and Coastal Resource Management, emphasized this in his address at the High-Level Forum on Blue Natural Capital during Coral Triangle Day in Manado, representing the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries. "This is an opportune moment for CTI-CFF countries to explore investment opportunities in natural assets, positioning themselves as global innovators in sustainable marine projects and economies," Manoppo stated on Wednesday, 12 June. The Coral Triangle, encompassing Indonesia, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, the Solomon Islands, and Timor-Leste, is a global treasure of marine biodiversity. It is home to diverse marine life, providing livelihoods for millions, and boasts rich coral reefs, mangroves, and sustainable eco-cultural marine tourism.
