Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto swiftly leveraged the momentum from the 2024 IPEF Ministerial Meeting and IPEF Clean Economy Investor Forum. On June 7, he held a breakfast meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong before co-chairing the 6th Indonesia-Singapore Bilateral Working Group Meeting. They discussed agreements in six areas: Special Economic Zones, Investment, Manpower, Transportation, Agri-Business, and Tourism, achieving concrete outcomes. During lunch, Airlangga and DPM Gan discussed strategic issues, particularly the sustainability of economic cooperation programs agreed upon in various forums. Airlangga then met Singapore President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, discussing green revolution and food issues, as well as Temasek's support for a modern food system. Following this, Airlangga met Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, discussing the Bilateral Working Group Meeting results and Singapore's support for Indonesia's OECD accession and joining the CPTPP. In one day, Airlangga completed the annual Bilateral Working Group meeting and met with three top Singaporean leaders: DPM Gan, President Tharman, and PM Wong, underscoring the commitment to strengthening Indonesia-Singapore relations. Accompanying Airlangga were Economic Secretary Susiwijono Moegiarso, Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore Suryopratomo, and a team of experts from the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs.
In 2023, 18 business recommendation permits were issued, and as of May 2024, seven recommendations had been issued, exceeding the target of five. The seed certification program ensures that all seeds sold in South Kalimantan undergo certification, with an annual target of 1.5 million seeds, achieving 1.7 million seeds in 2023. Seed distribution supervision ensures that certified seeds are correctly circulated, with a target of 1.5 million seeds supervised in 2024. Additionally, the services include online innovations to facilitate the application process and shorten processing time. The goal is to produce high-quality seeds that enhance the welfare of the community, especially in South Kalimantan's plantation areas. This effort aims to increase production and provide a positive economic impact, with support from various parties ensuring the smooth implementation of the roadmap and benefiting farmers and consumers in the region.
