The Indonesian Embassy in Phnom Penh hosted the Indonesia Health Fest (IHF) 2024 in Sihanoukville on June 8-9. The event aimed to foster collaboration and cooperation between the health sectors of Indonesia and Cambodia. "Indonesia Health Fest 2024 is a testament to our commitment to strengthening the relationship between Indonesia and Cambodia, particularly in the health sector," said Indonesian Ambassador to Cambodia, Santo Darmosumarto, in a press release on Monday, June 10, 2024. "We see great potential for collaboration that can benefit both countries," he added.
IHF 2024, part of the series commemorating 65 years of Indonesia-Cambodia diplomatic relations, featured exhibitions from the health industries of both countries. Participants also had the opportunity to engage in forums discussing critical health issues, with speakers including practitioners, experts, and policymakers from both nations. In 2023, Indonesia's health product exports to Cambodia reached USD 29.4 million. Overall, bilateral trade between the two countries amounted to USD 1.1 billion. "Indonesia aims to encourage more interaction among stakeholders in the health sector between the two countries," Santo stated.
