Polypaint Indonesia, a leading paint and coatings manufacturer, is exploring export market expansion opportunities in South Africa. As part of its strategy, Polypaint represented Indonesia at the international construction exhibition 'Big5Construct' held recently in Johannesburg. The event facilitated industry players to introduce products, exchange business information, build partnerships, and connect with the South African construction market. Astri Gani, Director of Sales & Operations at Polypaint, stated that Polypaint was the sole Indonesian company at the event, showcasing its Eco-Friendly paint and coating products. “We are grateful for the opportunity to introduce Polypaint’s premium products. This business meeting has opened potential trade collaborations and smoothed Polypaint’s path into the global market,” Astri said in a statement to KONTAN on Tuesday (June 11). Polypaint’s delegation, including Chief Marketing & Creative Officer Poppy Zeidra, also met with members of the South Africa Chamber & Commerce Industry (SACCI) and Johannesburg Chamber & Commerce Industry (JCCI).
Poppy emphasized the need to understand the varying regulatory landscapes across countries, including legal regulations, practical business implications, currency fluctuations, and efficiency strategies. “Polypaint is a proudly Indonesian product ready for international competition. We anticipate many challenges, particularly in global business expansion, which requires detailed market survey navigation,” Poppy noted. Boy L. Utama, Founder & CEO of Polypaint Indonesia, highlighted their continuous efforts to expand into new markets and develop globally appealing products. “We are open to every opportunity for Polypaint’s market expansion, ensuring that Indonesian local products can compete internationally,” Boy stated. Tonny Hendriawan, Director of the Indonesian Trade Promotion Centre (ITPC), remarked that Polypaint’s presence at the Big5Construct Expo demonstrates the competitiveness of Indonesian local products in the global market.
