Dekranasda Kabupaten Bantul held a Creative Industry Product Exhibition at Atrium Plaza Malioboro from June 7 to 9, 2024. In addition to showcasing various flagship products from the 17 sub-districts in Bantul, the event featured regional art performances and a fashion show by the finalists of Miss Bantul 2024. The exhibition aimed to consistently support the creativity of local creative industry players, as stated by Emi Masruroh Halim, Chairperson of Dekranasda Bantul, during the opening ceremony on Friday, June 7, 2024. Tazbir Abdullah, Chairperson III of Dekranasda DIY, congratulated Bantul for its numerous innovations and encouraged local artisans to maintain product quality.
Bupati Bantul, Abdul Halim Muslih, expressed his appreciation for the exhibition, hoping that artisans would become increasingly creative and innovative despite sourcing raw materials from other regions. He noted that while Bantul is not rich in natural materials, its creative industry leads in regional GDP contribution, showcasing the high creativity of Bantul's people. Halim also highlighted that Kasongan pottery recently received legal protection through geographical indication intellectual property rights, following the designation of Nitik batik several years ago. This event and these achievements underscore the commitment of Bantul's government and community to fostering and protecting their creative industries.
