The Indonesian Trade Attaché in Canberra has facilitated a cooperation agreement between an Indonesian coconut sugar producer and market regions in Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands. This agreement was signed between Global Coco Sugar, an Indonesian producer, and Import United Ausindo Pty Ltd, which will act as the exclusive agent for marketing coconut sugar in these regions. The Trade Attaché, Agung Haris Setiawan, emphasized that this initiative aims to support the Ministry of Trade's efforts to boost Indonesian exports to these markets. The signing took place on Thursday (June 6) and is part of the government's ongoing commitment to bridging business collaborations between the two countries to expand the market for Indonesian products.
Haris noted that this cooperation agreement would significantly broaden the reach of coconut sugar products, meeting the rising global demand. The initial term of the agreement is three years, with an option for extension based on future evaluations. Under the agreement, Import United Ausindo will receive a commission on all direct and indirect sales. The signing was conducted in a hybrid format, with the support of PrivyID, a certified electronic certificate and electronic signature provider, ensuring secure and convenient signing despite geographical differences. This method will also be adopted at the 2024 Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) for buyers unable to attend in person but still seeking legal recognition. This move underscores the ministry's dedication to facilitating and expanding trade relationships and market access for Indonesian products across Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands.
