The Indonesian Ministry of Trade, through the Trade Attaché in Canberra, is pushing for the expansion of Indonesian products in Australia. This initiative was marked by the signing of a cooperation agreement between Global Coco Sugar, an Indonesian coconut sugar producer, and Import United Ausindo Pty Ltd, which will act as the exclusive agent for Global Coco Sugar in Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands on Wednesday, 5 June 2024. "The signing of this agreement is expected to support the Ministry of Trade's efforts to increase Indonesian exports to Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands. The government is committed to facilitating and bridging business partnerships between the two countries, thereby expanding the market for Indonesian products," explained Agung Haris Setiawan, the Indonesian Trade Attaché in Canberra. According to Haris, this agreement will broaden the reach of Global Coco Sugar products and meet the rising demand for high-quality coconut sugar in the global market. Import United Ausindo, an experienced Australian import company, already has an established distribution network in Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands.
Rifqi Hermawan, Director of Global Coco Sugar, expressed his hopes that the agreement would significantly benefit the distribution of their products. "We appreciate Import United Ausindo and the Trade Attaché in Canberra for facilitating this cooperation. We hope this partnership will yield significant benefits for both companies and reach the sales target of USD 2 million by 2028," said Rifqi, who will also participate in the Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2024. Fikri Azis, General Manager of Import United Ausindo, was impressed by the quality and sustainability commitment of Global Coco Sugar. "We are confident that Global Coco Sugar products will be well-received by our customers, and we look forward to developing a mutually beneficial partnership for the coming years," he said. The initial term of the agreement is three years, with an option for extension based on evaluation. Import United Ausindo will receive a commission on all direct and indirect sales under this agreement. The signing was conducted in a hybrid format with support from PrivyID, an electronic certificate provider, ensuring secure and seamless cross-country transactions. This signing method will continue at TEI 2024, especially for buyers unable to attend in person but still seeking legal assurance.
