In April 2024, Aceh Province exported coal to India valued at USD 31.05 million, followed by exports to Thailand amounting to USD 11.22 million with the main commodity being condensate. The United States ranked third with exports totaling USD 6.66 million, primarily consisting of coffee. Ahmadriswan Nasution, Head of Aceh BPS, reported that the total export value of goods from Aceh in April 2024 was USD 58.31 million, marking a 12.70% increase compared to exports in March 2024. This figure also represents a 5.24% rise compared to April 2023. The majority of Aceh's exports were shipped through Aceh ports, accounting for USD 41.57 million or 71.29%, while the remainder was exported through other provinces. Specifically, neighboring North Sumatra Province handled exports worth USD 16.54 million.
The largest commodity exported in April 2024 was coal, valued at USD 30.66 million, followed by coffee and spices at USD 12.95 million, and condensate at USD 9.51 million. Ahmadriswan highlighted that Aceh’s export performance in April 2024 showed significant growth, both on a monthly and annual basis. The increase in export activities demonstrates Aceh’s expanding role in international trade, particularly through its main commodities like coal, coffee, and condensate. This positive trend underscores the strategic importance of Aceh's ports and the province’s capability to leverage its resources for economic growth.
