During April 2024, Aceh exported one of its main commodities, Aceh coffee, worth USD 6.66 million to the United States. According to Ahmadriswan Nasution, speaking at a virtual press conference on Monday (3/6), Thailand ranked second, with exports valued at USD 11.22 million, mainly comprising condensate. Ahmadriswan stated that the total export value of Aceh commodities in April 2024 amounted to USD 58.31 million, marking a 12.70% increase compared to March 2024. This figure also reflects a 5.24% rise from April 2023.
The primary commodity exported from Aceh in April 2024, valued at USD 31.05 million, was directed to India, predominantly consisting of coal. Ahmadriswan revealed that a significant portion of Aceh's commodities, totaling USD 41.57 million or 71.29%, was exported through ports in Tanah Rencong. The remaining portion was exported through ports outside Aceh, specifically in North Sumatra Province, amounting to USD 16.54 million. Overall, the largest exported commodity in April 2024 was coal, valued at USD 30.66 million, followed by coffee and spices at USD 12.95 million, and condensate at USD 9.51 million.
