In recent times, the mining sector has been undergoing significant transformations to achieve a vision of affordable, reliable, and sustainable mining practices. While the latest technologies, processes, and business models are key factors in reaching these goals, strategic collaboration is also crucial. Indonesia, one of the world's largest mining producers, boasts vast mineral reserves and diverse other potentials. Given this potential, elevating Indonesia as a regional leader in the mining industry is a well-supported concept. Indonesia plays a pivotal role in promoting sustainable mining principles. Against this backdrop, the fourth edition of Indonesia Miner returns, themed "Accelerating the Mining Industry - Changes That Propel Us Forward." The event encompasses three main sectors: Gold & Copper and other minerals, Nickel & EV Battery, and Coal & Energy Transition. These themes are presented through various event features, including conferences, exhibitions, networking functions, workshops, Miners Talk, and Face of Indonesia Miner, allowing delegates to expand their professional networks and discuss the latest trends in the mining industry.
The event was inaugurated by Lana Saria, Senior Advisor for Natural Resources Economics at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Indonesia. Indonesia Miner is supported by various industry associations and sponsored by over 30 leading companies. This year, Thiess, Coolon, Metso, and Nickel Industries joined as platinum sponsors of Indonesia Miner 2024, collaborating with the Indonesia Miner committee to welcome more than 1,200 delegates from over 20 countries. This year, Indonesia Miner also features its prestigious segment, Face of Indonesia Miner, which celebrates outstanding achievements and contributions to Indonesia's mining sector by eight influential figures: Raden Sukhyar, Febriany Eddy, Retno Nartani, Irma Kurniawati, Henny Dwi Purnamasari, STJ Budi Santoso, Rochman Alamsjah, and Haykal Hubeis.
