The Tanjung Emas Customs Office supported PT Jiaqi Agrikultural Indonesia in exporting 25 tons of processed porang in the form of konjac chips (dried porang) to Shekou, China, on Wednesday, May 29. This initiative aims to strengthen the trade of Indonesia’s agricultural flagship commodities on the international stage. Khanan, Head of Customs and Excise Service Section II, praised the efforts of PT Jiaqi and the farmers of Central Java. Konjac chips, made from thinly sliced and dried porang tubers, are an agricultural product from Central Java.
According to Khanan, this export demonstrates that Indonesian agricultural products can compete in international markets. “We will continue to support export enhancement efforts like this by providing fast and accurate services to exporters,” said Khanan. PT Jiaqi Agrikultural Indonesia meticulously prepared to ensure the konjac chips were well-received in foreign markets, paving the way for future shipments. This inaugural export is expected to boost the welfare of farmers in Central Java, given its high economic value. Steven Tang, Director of PT Jiaqi Agrikultural Indonesia, stated that the success of the export process is the result of effective cooperation between the company, farmers, and the government.
