Indonesia Re Supports Randang Exports by West Sumatra UKM

Indonesia Re collaborates with the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Treasury (DJPb) of the Ministry of Finance to support the development of the randang culinary industry in West Sumatra for domestic and export markets. Indonesia Re President Director, Benny Waworuntu, stated in Padang on Wednesday that the support for the culinary industry is provided through education and funding assistance. "We provide education on export insurance to small and micro business (UKM) players ready for export and offer funding assistance, seeds, and fertilizers to farmers associated with the Minang Rendang Entrepreneurs Association (HIPERMI)," he said. He mentioned that as a state-owned enterprise, Indonesia Re focuses not only on generating profit but also on bearing responsibility for sustainable development while spreading benefits in economic, social, environmental, and legal aspects.

The implementation is carried out through the Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program. This program is based on the principle that integration with various parties is part of the company's business development efforts. He highlighted that Indonesia Re's TJSL program focuses on three areas: education, the environment, and UKM. Indonesia Re's Director of Risk Management, Compliance, HR & Corporate Secretary, Robbi Yanuar Walid, stated that the program implemented in West Sumatra reflects the company's commitment to executing the economic pillar and Sustainable Development Goal No. 8 concerning decent work and economic growth for UKM. "This UKM funding program is a priority from the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises' TJSL future outlook," he added. Meanwhile, DJPb Regional Office Head of West Sumatra Province, Syukriah HG, noted that one of the economic potentials promoted by DJPb Sumbar is the enhancement of the randang food industry to meet domestic and international markets. "The food industry must also be supported by the availability of raw materials. Therefore, HIPERMI not only comprises ready-made food entrepreneurs but also has an Agro division (farmers) that ensures the availability of food raw materials," he stated. He appreciated Indonesia Re, acknowledging it as the first state-owned enterprise to support the development of the culinary industry in West Sumatra through HIPERMI.
