Gorontalo Province Integral to Eastern Indonesia's Triangle Economic Growth

Gorontalo Province has emerged as a key player in the Triangle Economic Growth model in Eastern Indonesia, connecting Balikpapan near the new capital Nusantara, and Bitung in North Sulawesi. This was highlighted by Prof. Dr. H. Ali Masykur Musa, Chairman of the Alumni Association of Nahdlatul Ulama, during a public lecture at the Senate Hall of Gorontalo State University, Gorontalo City, on Tuesday. "Exporting from Anggrek Port in Teluk Tomini to destinations like Hong Kong, Korea, China, Japan, and other Asia-Pacific countries is more economical," he stated. According to him, this makes the supply chain management logistics of Teluk Tomini, the new capital Nusantara, and northern Indonesia strategically significant, with Gorontalo Province being a vital part of this future economic landscape.

In his lecture titled "Supply Chain Management in Teluk Tomini, the New Capital Nusantara, and Northern Indonesia," Ali, a former President Commissioner of PT PELNI, emphasized that export and import activities through Anggrek Port in Gorontalo are more cost-effective than other regions. He urged Gorontalo State University (UNG) to become a center for economic studies in the eastern region and provide advocacy support to accelerate economic growth. "I recommend UNG establish a center for triangle economic studies, focusing on the northern region and the new capital Nusantara. Additionally, they should engage with local entrepreneurs to help them grow into medium and large-scale businesses capable of competing in the global economy," he suggested.
