Prospective buyers examined ornamental fish for sale at the Parung Ornamental Fish Market in Bogor Regency, West Java, on Monday, May 20, 2024. The Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) reported that the ornamental fish business and its derivatives have positioned Indonesia as the largest ornamental fish exporter in the world.
According to KKP, Indonesia's ornamental fish export value in the first half of 2023 reached USD 20.5 million, reflecting a 16.2% increase compared to the same period in 2022. This growth has made Indonesia the second-largest ornamental fish exporter globally in 2023.
