Silmy Karim, Director General of Immigration, served as the keynote speaker at The New Era Bali Kerthi Investor Forum, themed ‘Special Economic Zone and Golden Visa,’ held at the United in Diversity Bali Campus, Kura Kura Bali. The forum was attended by Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno, Head of Bali Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights Pramella Yunidar Pasaribu, officials from related ministries and agencies, investors, entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders. Silmy Karim highlighted that Indonesia, particularly Bali, offers attractive investment opportunities for foreign investors. "The Indonesian government is committed to creating a conducive investment climate and facilitating foreign investors to invest in Indonesia," said Silmy Karim. One of the government's efforts to attract foreign investment is the launch of the Golden Visa program. This program offers various benefits to foreign investors, such as long-term residence permits, visa-free entry and exit from Indonesia, and ease of conducting business activities. "The Golden Visa is a strategic government program to attract high-quality foreign investment and drive national economic growth," Karim stated.
The Golden Visa is valid for five to ten years, depending on the investment amount. To reside in Indonesia for five years, individual investors must invest USD 2.5 million (approximately IDR 38 billion). For a ten-year stay, the required investment is USD 5 million (approximately IDR 76 billion). Foreign investors must apply for the Golden Visa through the Directorate General of Immigration, and the application process can be completed online or offline. Silmy Karim expressed confidence that the Golden Visa will attract foreign investors to invest in Indonesia. "We are optimistic that the Golden Visa will contribute to increasing foreign investment and boosting Indonesia's economic growth," he remarked. Karim also elaborated on the New Era Kerthi Bali Roadmap, a long-term government strategy to develop Bali as a leading global tourism and investment destination. This roadmap includes various programs and policies aimed at improving infrastructure, enhancing human resources quality, and creating an investor-friendly environment. "We believe that Bali has great potential to become a leading global destination for tourism and investment. The New Era Kerthi Bali Roadmap will help realize this potential," Karim concluded.
