The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded Gorontalo Province's export value in March 2024 at USD 2.6 million, a decrease of 54.40% compared to February 2024, which was USD 5.7 million. "The contribution of Gorontalo's export value to the total national export value for the period January-March 2024 is 0.02%," said the Head of BPS Gorontalo Province, Mukhamad Mukhanif, in Gorontalo on Monday. Several commodities from Gorontalo were exported in March 2024 through ports in other provinces, namely Tanjung Perak Port in Surabaya and Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Jakarta. The group of commodities exported through Tanjung Perak Port in Surabaya included processed and preserved fruits and nuts, totaling USD 1.1 million. The largest export values were to Italy at USD 280,000, followed by China at USD 253,000, Belgium at USD 180,000, and the Netherlands at USD 175,000. Other export destinations included Germany at USD 132,000, the United Kingdom at USD 36,000, South Africa at USD 37,000, and Russia at USD 17,000. Meanwhile, a group of various processed foods was exported to Thailand, amounting to USD 75,000. Additionally, parcels and returned goods were exported to Singapore, valued at USD 16, through Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Tangerang, Banten. For the import value, Gorontalo Province recorded USD 466,000 in March 2024. These imports were from Singapore and consisted of mineral fuel commodities.
