The Prakerja Program has successfully run for four years, providing training access to approximately 18.1 million individuals. Since transitioning from a semi-social assistance scheme during the pandemic to a normal scheme in 2023, Prakerja has increased its offline training sessions. The program now covers all regencies/cities across Indonesia. At the event marking the release of the 2023 Prakerja Program Implementation Report, Secretary of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Susiwijono Moegiarso, representing Coordinating Minister Airlangga Hartarto, highlighted the program's resilience and impact. He noted the pride felt by officials and the positive effects on 18.1 million recipients nationwide. Over 390 training providers, including universities, polytechnics, foundations, community training centers (BLK), multinational companies, and educational technology firms, form the Prakerja ecosystem. These providers offer diverse training courses, adapting to market needs such as excavator maintenance, green skills, and AI. Currently, Prakerja offers more than 5,600 training courses.
The program is being studied and adapted by other countries, like Cambodia. Recently, Prakerja received an Honorable Mention at the Wenhui Award 2022 for Educational Innovation, the first for Indonesia since 2010. This award, initiated by UNESCO Asia-Pacific and the National Commission of the People's Republic of China for UNESCO, highlights contributions to educational innovation in Asia-Pacific. In various international forums, Indonesia proudly showcases Prakerja as a digital service success. Susiwijono expressed hopes for the program's continued improvement under future administrations. As Indonesia discusses OECD accession, Prakerja aims to enhance the competence and productivity of the Indonesian workforce. Gratitude was extended to all stakeholders, including local governments and academic institutions, for their assessments and support. Prominent attendees included former Minister of ATR/BPR Sofyan Djalil, former Minister of Research and Technology Bambang Brodjonegoro, Executive Director of Prakerja Management Denni Purbasari, Acting Governor of Southwest Papua, and various regents and mayors from across Indonesia. Susiwijono concluded by emphasizing the goal of making Prakerja increasingly beneficial for its alumni and Indonesia’s economy.
