Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy/Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency, Sandiaga Salahuddin, targets 514 regencies/cities to register as Creative Regencies/Cities (KaTa Kreatif) to boost the economy through the creative sector. "We (Kemenparekraf) aim for 514 regencies/cities to register as KaTa Kreatif. This will enhance their economies, especially from the creative sector," said Sandiaga in Jakarta on Monday. Sandiaga stated that the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) continues to encourage creative actors to register their regencies/cities as part of the KaTa Kreatif program.
Sandiaga explained that KaTa Kreatif has been a flagship program of Kemenparekraf since 2022. The program has successfully established 194 KaTa Kreatif across 38 provinces in Indonesia, with the number increasing each year. This year, according to Sandiaga, there has been a 43% increase in registrations compared to the previous year. The KaTa Kreatif program aims to explore, manage, and develop the creativity and local potential of regencies and cities in Indonesia. Additionally, the program aims to build awareness and commitment among all stakeholders, creating a conducive ecosystem for the development of KaTa Kreatif.
