Indonesian Electric Motorcycle Manufacturers Prepare to Export to Cambodia

The Chairman of the Indonesian Electric Motorcycle Industry Association (Aismoli), Budi Setiyadi, announced that Aismoli members are set to begin exporting their products to other countries. The cooperation to meet the demand for electric motorcycles from Indonesia will commence with the export of scooters manufactured by Greentech to Cambodia. "Yesterday, I witnessed the MoU between Greentech and Cambodia. Greentech will sell or export around 17,000 units under their contract with Cambodia," Budi revealed during the Ground Breaking ceremony of the Yadea Indonesia factory in Karawang, West Java, on Monday, May 13, 2024.

Budi also highlighted the attractiveness of Indonesia's market for top-tier electric motorcycles from China, indicating significant investment interest. He expressed hope that the government’s subsidy policy for electric motorcycle purchases will continue in the future to expand the electric vehicle market. "From Aismoli's perspective, I hope the subsidies continue because the target for 2024 is 600,000 units, and if there are leftovers, it should extend into 2025. The new administration might have the same commitment," he explained.
