Indonesia and China Deepen Cooperation in Investment and Manpower

The Ministry of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia, together with the Government of Hunan Province, China, are strengthening cooperation in investment and labor sectors. During a meeting with Zhang Jianfei, Vice Chairman of the People's Congress of Hunan Province, Afriansyah Noor, Deputy Minister of Manpower, discussed various aspects of collaboration. Their discussions focused on developing training programs and enhancing the quality of public services for labor practitioners, aligning with industry needs in both countries. They emphasized exchanging experiences, best practices, information, and regulations, as well as IT-based public service development. Additionally, they explored opportunities for cooperation in innovation and technology, including technology transfer and joint research, particularly in improving public service quality. Efforts to promote investment and entrepreneurship in sectors that generate employment received attention, with support offered to local and foreign companies interested in investing in both nations.


Deputy Minister Noor highlighted Indonesia's advantage of a youthful population, which provides a productive and innovative workforce. The country's potential in supplying skilled labor across various sectors, such as information technology, manufacturing, and services, was noted as attractive for investment. Moreover, the government's commitment to establishing work standards, minimum wages, and social security to protect workers' rights was underscored, aiming to foster a stable and sustainable business environment. Indonesia aims to capitalize on its demographic dividend to enhance competitiveness in the global market. Overall, the discussions between Indonesia and Hunan Province reflect a mutual interest in deepening collaboration to harness economic opportunities and address labor-related challenges. This partnership signifies a commitment to fostering bilateral ties and promoting socio-economic development in both countries.
