Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy/Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Menparekraf/Kabaparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno seized the opportunity of the Wonderful Indonesia Night in Dubai to promote Indonesia's creative economy to investors from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Middle East. The event, held at Raffles Dubai Hotel on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, local time, was initiated by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy as a means to introduce Indonesia's rich cultural and natural heritage, as well as its diverse local wisdom to the international stage. Sandiaga described the Wonderful Indonesia Night as an evening of cultural reflection, showcasing special culinary delights, and vibrant fashion. It celebrated Indonesia's cultural heritage in fashion and culinary diversity.
Expressing confidence in the event's ability to expand Indonesia's creative economy promotion globally, particularly in the Middle East, Sandiaga highlighted its potential to attract more Middle Eastern investors to invest in Indonesia's creative economy sector. He emphasized the potential economic benefits for Indonesian society, including tourism, business opportunities, and job creation within the creative economy sector. The event featured a fashion show presenting works by renowned designers and emerging talents such as Zeta Prive, Raegitazoro, Indonesian Diaspora (Desi Sari Dewi – Lydia Hasanah – Sylvania Sari), Trusmi x Sroja, and Ayu Dyah Andari. Guests were also treated to a variety of authentic Indonesian cuisines. Menparekraf Sandiaga was accompanied by Deputy of Industry and Investment of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Rizki Handayani, and Director of Tourism Marketing for Regional II of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Cecep Rukendi, during the event.
