The 10th World Water Forum in Bali Boosts Sustainable Tourism in Indonesia

Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno underscores the significance of the 2024 World Water Forum (WWF) in Bali as an opportunity to advance Indonesia's sustainable tourism sector. Stressing alignment with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and cultural preservation, Sandiaga emphasizes the importance of environmentally friendly practices in creative economic product manufacturing. During the event in Bali, Sandiaga highlights the pivotal role of basic accessibility factors, particularly clean water supply, in enhancing tourist comfort, thereby positively impacting the tourism and creative economy sectors. He reaffirms the government's commitment to prioritizing tourist comfort, viewing it as a catalyst for broader sectoral growth.

Sandiaga points out that the provision of basic accessibility, such as clean water, is paramount for ensuring tourist satisfaction in Indonesia. Recognizing the potential of tourist comfort factors to attract investment, he sees opportunities for further investment in the tourism and creative economy sectors. Investment realization in these sectors has shown promising growth, with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) reporting IDR 23.70 trillion in total investments during the first semester of 2023. Sandiaga attributes this positive trend to robust infrastructure and effective natural resource management, fostering investor confidence. Overall, Sandiaga's remarks highlight the government's commitment to leveraging international platforms like the WWF to promote sustainable tourism practices, enhance tourist comfort, and stimulate investment in Indonesia's tourism and creative economy sectors.
