The government, through the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora), engaged in discussions with representatives from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) government regarding investment opportunities in sports infrastructure development. Dito Ariotedjo, Minister of Youth and Sports, highlighted that the investment opportunities encompassed projects such as the construction of a Paralympic training center in Central Java, a youth elite athlete training center in Cibubur, and investments in sports facilities in the capital city. These discussions occurred during a meeting with leaders from the Abu Dhabi Development Fund and the UAE Office of Development Affairs (ODA) on the second day of Dito Ariotedjo's visit to Abu Dhabi. Apart from investment opportunities, they also explored potential collaborations between Kemenpora and UEA ODA regarding pencak silat championships in the UAE and youth-related initiatives. Dito expressed support for UEA ODA by aligning the Youth Volunteer Program with Kemenpora's Colab Ranger Program. He expressed satisfaction with the established cooperation, hoping it would contribute to the advancement of Indonesia's sports industry. During a previous meeting with the UAE Minister of Education, who also serves as the Chairman of the General Authority of Sports, Dito expressed appreciation for UAE's support in developing pencak silat in Indonesia, particularly through hosting the World Pencak Silat Championship in 2024. This support from the UAE government is expected to elevate pencak silat as a globally recognized martial art originating from Indonesia.
