Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy/Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Menparekraf/Kabaparekraf), Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, took on the role of super mentor for 50 students from the Bali Tourism Polytechnic (Poltekpar) selected as Liaison Officers (LO) for the upcoming "The 2nd UN Tourism Regional Conference on the Empowerment of Women in Tourism in Asia and the Pacific" at BICC The Westin Resort, Nusa Dua, Bali, on May 2-4, 2024. Sandiaga Uno emphasized during the LO briefing at the Bali Poltekpar MICE Building on April 27, 2024, that the selected students should not only fulfill their duties as LOs but also serve as tourism ambassadors, promoting Bali's nature and culture and providing memorable experiences for the delegates. With approximately 200 delegates from 42 countries expected to attend the UN Tourism Conference, Sandiaga expressed his hope for the LOs to excel in their roles, as they play a central and vital role in welcoming the delegates.
Additionally, he highlighted that the UN Tourism Conference serves as a pre-event for the World Water Forum, offering the LOs an opportunity to practice and prepare for providing the best service to the attendees. Sandiaga explained that Bali Tourism Polytechnic was entrusted as the host for the conference, emphasizing the importance of effective implementation of the training provided to the LOs over the past three days for the success of the UN Tourism Conference. He also stressed the significance of showcasing Bali's renowned hospitality, supported by the students' proficiency in foreign languages. In the same event, the Chairman of Bali Poltekpar, Ida Bagus Putu Puja, expressed appreciation for the 50 students selected as LOs, urging them to execute their roles effectively in supporting the smooth and successful implementation of the UN Tourism Conference.
