The Provincial Government of East Kalimantan hosted a Diplomat Trip at the East Kalimantan Pavilion in TMII, Jakarta, to showcase the region's natural resources, culture, and economic potential to foreign diplomats. Sri Wahyuni, the Provincial Secretary, highlighted that the event aimed not only to strengthen diplomatic relations but also to promote East Kalimantan's assets globally.East Kalimantan boasts diverse ethnicities, tribes, and extensive natural beauty across its 127,346.92 km² area, making it Indonesia's fourth-largest province with a population of 3.9 million as of 2023. Positioned as a vital trade route hub through the ALKI 2, East Kalimantan is recognized for its abundance of natural resources, particularly coal, oil, gas, and timber, contributing significantly to the nation's sustainability.
With East Kalimantan serving as the nation's gateway, the province's designation as the National Capital Region has attracted considerable attention from domestic and international stakeholders, including investors and diplomatic missions. This move is expected to bring about substantial economic, infrastructural, and sectoral changes across East Kalimantan. During the event, traditional East Kalimantan music, dances, souvenir presentations, and traditional games were showcased to provide a glimpse into the region's rich cultural heritage. Ambassadors from friendly nations, the East Kalimantan Liaison Agency in Jakarta, the Director of TMII, and the Manager of the East Kalimantan Pavilion were among the attendees. Overall, the Diplomat Trip served as a platform to introduce East Kalimantan's potential to the global stage, emphasizing its natural beauty, cultural richness, and economic promise. It underscored the province's pivotal role in Indonesia's development trajectory and highlighted its significance as a potential economic powerhouse in the future.
