The IKN Authority Explores Collaboration with IBM and the New York City Office for Technology and Innovation

A delegation from the Nusantara Capital City Authority (IKN), led by the Deputy for Green and Digital Transformation, visited IBM and the New York Office for Technology and Innovation (NYC OTI) as part of the Smart City Reverse Trade Mission (RTM) activities in the United States. Sponsored by the United States Trade and Development Agency (USTDA), the delegation included representatives from various Indonesian ministries and the Indonesian Consulate General in New York. During the visit, Rob Thomas, IBM's Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, highlighted IBM's contribution to technology development in the Nusantara Capital City. IBM's focus on Hybrid Cloud, Artificial Intelligence, and Quantum Computing aims to enhance efficiency in managing and serving the capital.


 Implementation of asset management technology utilizing IoT sensors and automation with AI will optimize operations in the Nusantara Capital City. Prof. Mohammed Ali Berawi, Deputy for Green and Digital Transformation, invited global companies and international collaborators to participate in building the Nusantara Capital City. He emphasized the city's role as a smart and sustainable urban center driven by technology utilization and human resource capacity enhancement.Following the meeting between IKN and IBM, plans were made to conduct a proof of concept (POC) for asset management technology based on IoT and AI in the Nusantara Capital City. This technology aims to improve efficiency through predictive analytics, particularly in sustainable urban service sectors. The delegation also visited the New York Office for Technology and Innovation (NYC OTI), responsible for providing technological solutions and promoting city service innovation. NYC OTI facilitates pilot projects through the Smart City Testbed initiative to accelerate the adoption of new technologies and drive innovation in New York's urban governance processes.
