The Lampung Provincial Tourism and Creative Economy Office (Disparekraf) has announced a total of 90 tourism-related events scheduled throughout 2024 in the region. These events span across 15 districts and cities within Lampung Province, aiming to enhance tourism activities and attract visitors. Head of Disparekraf Lampung Province, Bobby Irawan, stated that these events encompass various tourism activities, including traditional cultural arts, music concerts, parades, and other tourism-related programs. The objective for 2024 is to position Lampung Province as a prominent hub for hosting diverse events, thereby stimulating tourism growth and fostering cultural exchange.
To facilitate the execution of these 90 tourism events, the local government has streamlined the permit process for promoters and organizers. This proactive approach aims to emulate successful tourism strategies observed in more developed regions, where government support and simplified permitting processes have played a pivotal role in driving tourism sector expansion. Among the notable tourism events scheduled for April 2024 in Lampung Province are the Muli Mekhanai Selection in various districts, the Radin Djambat Festival in Way Kanan District, Pitu Likukh Night in West Lampung District, Ngelemang Bebakhong in West Lampung, and the Sekura Festival in West Lampung. Additionally, events such as the Way Kambas Amusement Park, Pekan Fest in Pesisir Barat, and the National Student Art Competition Festival (FLS2N) in Bandar Lampung City are also part of the tourism calendar. The strategic focus on promoting Lampung as an event-centric destination aims to entice both domestic and international tourists, offering them a diverse array of activities to choose from across different districts and cities within the province.
