Menteri Pariwisata dan Ekonomi Kreatif (Menparekraf) RI, Sandiaga Salahudin Uno, visited Sekupang, Kota Batam, to evaluate investment opportunities and creative tourism development. The area is undergoing development into a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for Health, offering attractive investment prospects. Sandiaga emphasized the potential of Batam as a nature and cultural tourism destination, especially through projects like Serenity Central City, a resort city development by Central Group. Serenity Central City, designed with eight harmonious aspects including Sustainable Development, Green Environment, Integrated Transportation, World-Class Hospitality, Health Special Economic Zone, Ecotourism, International Event Venue, and High Investment Area, adds to Batam's allure. Sandiaga stressed the importance of focusing on green tourism, sustainable development, and quality. He urged private entities to contribute to investment, infrastructure, and tourism development in the Riau Islands, particularly Sekupang.

Kemenparekraf commits to supporting Sekupang's development as a premier investment and tourism destination through infrastructure, regulations, and intensive tourism promotion. Princip Muljadi, CEO of Central Group, expressed gratitude for Sandiaga's visit to Serenity Central City. The project boasts international-standard facilities and is close to a golf course and a 184-meter-long infinity pool. Central Group aims to complete all hotel and villa facilities by 2026, creating a new and enticing tourist destination within two years. With support from various stakeholders and significant investment opportunities in Sekupang, the area holds promise for various economic sectors, particularly in creative tourism. Central Group envisions Sekupang becoming a promising destination for tourism and investment.
