Governor of South Kalimantan (Kalsel), Sahbirin Noor, stated that the National Halal Fair Kalsel 2024 will support Indonesia in becoming a center for halal product industries globally. "South Kalimantan is one of the 12 provinces in Indonesia organizing the National Halal Fair 2024 during Ramadan. This event is a significant opportunity to develop the Sharia economy and the halal industry," Sahbirin said in Banjarmasin on Tuesday (19/3/2024). He mentioned that the National Halal Fair 2024 will serve as a platform for promoting and marketing high-quality halal products, as well as a venue for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) entrepreneurs. "The National Halal Fair becomes a moment for academics and stakeholders to share knowledge in developing business opportunities in the halal industry. This will undoubtedly encourage the certification of more halal products," he added.
Moreover, the National Halal Fair Kalsel 2024 aims to support the national campaign program for the development of the Sharia economy, especially the halal MSME sector in South Kalimantan. Furthermore, during the holy month of Ramadan, it serves as an opportunity to strengthen synergy and collaboration to advance and expand halal business opportunities. The National Halal Fair Kalsel 2024 is held at the Taman Budaya Park, Banjarmasin City, from March 19 to 24, 2024, alongside several activities. These include the TPID Kalsel Affordable Market to curb inflation, which runs concurrently with the National Halal Fair. Additionally, there's the Capacity Building Eksyar event aimed at nurturing Sharia economic and financial players, scheduled for Wednesday (20/3), followed by the Ramadan Cake Fair from March 12 to April 5, 2024.
