Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, held discussions with creative economy players in Jambi City to explore the potential and opportunities for business development in the local area. Sandiaga mentioned several sub-sectors of the creative economy that have rapidly developed in Jambi City, including culinary, crafts, fashion, and even filmmaking. He hoped that the discussions with creative economy players in Jambi City would bring new ideas for them to develop themselves.
During the occasion, he also advised creative economy players to collaborate with the government, academia, business players, and communities. "Don't just compete on pricing but focus on collaborating with policymakers in the region to innovate," he said. Jambi Governor Al Haris stated that the visit by the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy has provided encouragement for creative economy players in Jambi City. "Currently, Jambi is actively promoting SMEs, including creative economy players. Many young people can develop their businesses. In Jambi, there are millennial business communities to encourage young people to become entrepreneurs. There is also creative economy for mothers aimed at people's welfare," said Haris. Acting Mayor of Jambi, Sri Purwaningsih, mentioned that the creative economy sector also contributes to the local revenue of Jambi City, hence efforts are needed to enhance its development potential in the future. "Jambi City may not have many natural tourist attractions, but the creative economy contributes to the city's revenue. In front of the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sri stated that the Jambi City Government is preparing Jambi City to be the gateway for tourism in Jambi Province by providing services and accommodation and culinary services for tourists.
