To boost the export of F&B products to Mexico, Indonesia participated in the EXPO ANTAD 2024

Indonesia's participation in the 2024 Expo Asociación Nacional de Tiendas de Autoservicio y Departamentales (ANTAD) in Guadalajara, Mexico, aimed to boost transactions to USD 2.3 million (IDR 35.7 billion). The event, inaugurated by Indonesian Ambassador Cheppy Triprakoso Wartono and ITPC Mexico City Head Sunny Adrian, underscores Indonesia's strategic push to penetrate the Mexican F&B market. With over 1,264 participants from various countries and 47,000 visitors, it serves as a crucial platform for Indonesia's F&B industry. Ambassador Cheppy emphasized the need for consistent participation to uphold Indonesia's momentum in Mexico's market. Indonesia showcased products from key exporters like Mayora, Sido Muncul, and Indofood, including biscuits, instant noodles, herbal drinks, and specialty teas.


Business matchmaking activities facilitated 14 collaborations between Indonesian participants and major Mexican distributors and retailers like Soriana and Liverpool. The Ambassador hopes ANTAD 2024 will foster connections between Indonesian producers and Mexican buyers, positioning Mexico as a gateway to broader markets in the Americas. Recognizing Mexico's growing F&B demand, Sunny highlighted the significant market potential for Indonesian products with their quality and competitive prices. Mexico's F&B imports surged to USD 39.2 billion in 2023, reflecting a trend mirrored in Indonesian exports to Mexico, which reached USD 152.4 million with a 5.9% market share. ANTAD, a regular event for ITPC Mexico City, continues to be a key avenue for Indonesian F&B promotion, capitalizing on Mexico's population of 128.5 million and its thriving F&B market valued at over USD 51.9 billion. Indonesian products have begun to gain traction in Mexico, but consistent promotion is vital for wider recognition and market penetration, underscoring the significance of Indonesia's participation in events like ANTAD.
