The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) highlights the significant role of the craft industry in boosting national economic growth, particularly its substantial contribution to the export value of the manufacturing sector. According to data from TradeMap.org, Indonesia's total craft exports to the global market reached USD 802.597 billion in 2023. Director General of Small, Medium, and Various Industries (IKMA) Reni Yanita stated that Indonesia holds a market share of up to two percent in the global craft product market, emphasizing the potential for further growth. Reni underscored Kemenperin's commitment to facilitating market access for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the craft and textile sectors, enabling their participation in international exhibitions.

Highlighting Indonesia's competitive edge in global markets due to the skills of local artisans and the diverse national cultural influence on craft products, Reni emphasized the high value and aesthetic appeal of Indonesian crafts. Moreover, Reni expressed optimism about the growth potential of the craft industry in Indonesia, given the widespread presence of craft industrial centers across the country. She emphasized the role of the creative industry in preserving local wisdom and cultural heritage, contributing to the nation's identity. To further enhance the market share of the craft industry domestically, Kemenperin consistently facilitates supported SMEs in the Inacraft Exhibition. In 2024, the prestigious event hosted 1,500 SMEs from various regions, with 12 supported SMEs participating after a month-long curation process. The Inacraft Exhibition serves as a platform to showcase Indonesia's premier craft products, renowned for their design, innovation, regional uniqueness, local wisdom, and global market orientation.
