Corinaldo, the Double-Digit Tourism Village: 'It's Confirmation of Our Ongoing Commitment'

In 2023, tourism in Corinaldo experienced significant growth, marked by double-digit increases in various aspects. Known for its cultural richness, historical significance, and the famous Halloween festival, Corinaldo attracts tourists seeking unique experiences. The tourism assessor praised the village's warm hospitality and well-planned events, highlighting these as key strengths contributing to its popularity. Corinaldo, located twenty kilometers from the Velvet Beach, is celebrated as the birthplace of Santa Maria Goretti, maintaining its historical charm with intact landmarks like the house where she lived before departing for Nettuno. The village transforms into Italy's Halloween capital, hosting a week-long witch-themed festival featuring VIP guests and the traditional Miss Witch contest. Additionally, Corinaldo hosts the renowned historical reenactment event, the 'Contesa del Pozzo della Polenta,' now in its 43rd edition, along with the annual 'Festa dei Folli' every April. These events contribute to the village's cultural vibrancy and appeal to tourists seeking immersive historical experiences.

The positive tourism figures reflect the village's growing popularity, especially among Italian and international tourists. Italian arrivals increased by 12%, with stays exceeding 11%, while foreign arrivals and stays saw even more significant increases of 42% and 25%, respectively. The figures, although awaiting national validation, underscore the importance of Corinaldo's hinterland for tourists exploring Italy's picturesque villages. The village's consistent growth in tourism highlights the successful efforts of the local administration, emphasizing hospitality, event planning, and collaboration with tourism operators and accommodation facilities as pivotal factors in driving tourism growth. Overall, Corinaldo's success in attracting tourists and retaining its cultural heritage while adapting to modern tourism demands showcases its resilience and strategic approach to sustainable tourism development.
