In a bid to bolster export growth, PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk, known as bankjatim, recently sealed Cooperation Agreements (PKS) and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with the Indonesian Exporters Association (GPEI) during the Trade Connect bankjatim 2024 event. These agreements, inked at the Morazen Hotel Surabaya, aim to enhance export community development and strengthen East Java's export sector. The PKS, signed by bankjatim's Director of Finance, Treasury & Global Services, Edi Masrianto, and GPEI's Secretary-General, Toto Dirgantoro, covers a wide array of initiatives including export training, community development, and the utilization of bankjatim's services, alongside GPEI's online and offline business matching facilities. This collaboration seeks to benefit SMEs, particularly those with export-oriented flagship products in East Java. Furthermore, the MoU on Financial Services, endorsed by Edi Masrianto and GPEI DPP Chairman, Benny Sutrisno, encompasses plans for collaboration in funding, lending, and various banking transactions, aiming to foster financial support for East Java's export activities.
Through these agreements, bankjatim aims to provide comprehensive assistance to SMEs, facilitating their participation in global markets and enhancing their competitiveness. The Trade Connect bankjatim 2024 event also featured business matching sessions aimed at expanding connections between SMEs and international buyers, notably from the American market, further bolstering export opportunities for East Java's entrepreneurs. Edi Masrianto emphasized that Trade Connect bankjatim 2024 reflects the company's commitment to supporting partner customers and serving as a conduit for creating new market opportunities. The ultimate objective is to empower bankjatim's partner customers to elevate their competitiveness, upgrade their operations, and eventually engage in independent exports. As exports are pivotal for economic growth, job creation, and foreign exchange contribution, bankjatim remains steadfast in its commitment to encouraging entrepreneurs to venture into foreign markets. Edi Masrianto reiterated the importance of sustained efforts to drive increased exports, underscoring the significant role exports play in the nation's economic landscape.
