The property sector made a significant contribution to investment realization in Indonesia in 2023. This sector encompasses residential, industrial, and office areas. According to the National Single Window for Investment (NSWI) of the Investment Ministry/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), the total investment realization in 2023 amounted to IDR 1,418.9 trillion. Within this, the residential, industrial, and office sectors contributed IDR 115.2 trillion from 15,366 projects. This achievement places the residential, industrial, and office sectors fourth in terms of investment realization in 2023.
Investment realization in these sectors comes from both foreign direct investment (FDI) and domestic direct investment (DDI). For FDI, the residential, industrial, and office sectors recorded a realization of USD 2.57 billion or approximately IDR 38.10 trillion (using the exchange rate of IDR 14,800) from 6,336 projects. This positions them seventh in terms of FDI realization in 2023. As for DDI, investment realization in the residential, industrial, and office sectors reached IDR 77.09 trillion from 9,030 projects. This places the property sector second in terms of DDI realization in 2023. These statistics highlight the substantial contribution of the property sector to investment activities in Indonesia, both from foreign and domestic sources, reflecting its importance in the country's economic landscape.
