Indonesia Targets the Market for Traditional Herbal Medicine and Remedies in Cambodia

Indonesia aims to tap into Cambodia's traditional medicine and herbal market, citing significant potential. Ambassador Santo Darmosumarto met with Cambodian Chamber of Commerce Vice President Lim Heng to discuss enhancing economic partnerships. The Indonesian Embassy in Phnom Penh plans promotional events, including a health and beauty expo in June 2024, followed by "Sousday Indonesia" in September to promote trade, investment, and tourism. The embassy aims to attract 100 Indonesian and Cambodian companies.

Additionally, they will invite Cambodian business delegations to Indonesia's Trade Expo in October 2024. This year marks 65 years of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Cambodia. Lim Heng expressed CCC's commitment to supporting bilateral trade, investment, and tourism efforts. Both governments aim to boost private sector interaction, including collaboration between CCC and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia (IndoCham). Trade between the two countries reached USD 874.5 million (IDR 13.78 trillion) from January to November 2023, with exports totaling USD 788.6 million (IDR 12.42 trillion) and imports USD 85.9 million (IDR 1.35 trillion), according to Indonesia's Ministry of Trade.
