With 18.51 million Investors, Bappebti Highlights the Significant Potential of the Crypto Asset Industry in Indonesia

Bappebti data for 2023 reveals 18.51 million crypto investors, a 9.8% increase since the year's commencement, with transactions totaling IDR 149.25 trillion. Despite a transaction dip from 2022, the sector remains economically robust, boasting 501 registered crypto assets and 33 regulated traders. This reflects Indonesia's commitment to fostering a secure, equitable trading environment. Proactive government policies support the crypto ecosystem's growth, enhancing public awareness of its investment potential. Tokocrypto CEO Uudhono Rawis underscores Tokocrypto's role as Indonesia's leading #ExchangeIndonesia, committed to shaping the nation's blockchain and digital asset industry. Supported by Bappebti's steps and government backing, Tokocrypto aims to drive Indonesia's crypto industry growth, fostering inclusive and sustainable digital economic growth. In 2023, Tokocrypto's achievements included dominating 43% of the market, with over 3.2 million users and daily transactions exceeding USD 30 million, offering over 380 tokens and coins.


The crypto market rebounded in 2023, with a 108% total market capitalization increase, primarily in Q1 and Q4, driven by optimism towards Bitcoin spot ETFs and anticipation of the Bitcoin halving. Bitcoin maintains dominance, representing 50.2% of the total market capitalization, with its halving events signaling potential price increases. Social media discussions on crypto surged by 243% from July to December 2023, mainly focusing on price changes and 2024 projections. The younger generation views crypto as a future technology and investment opportunity, contributing to the sector's growth. Overall, Indonesia's crypto industry demonstrates resilience and potential, supported by regulatory initiatives, market developments, and growing public interest, positioning the country as a significant player in the global crypto landscape.
