Indonesia Exports Livestock Feed Worth IDR 44 Billion to Japan and Vietnam

PT. Nutricell Pacific, an Indonesian company, marked its inaugural export of livestock feed products to Japan and Vietnam on Monday (29/1/2024). A total of 14 tons of livestock feed supplements were exported to Japan valued at USD 13,320, while 1,200 boxes of livestock feed were shipped to Vietnam, amounting to USD 35,000. CEO of Nutricell, Suaedi Sunanto, elaborated that this export contract amounted to USD 3 million for Nutrifat Ca-84 products and USD 15,000 for Pet Food products. When converted to IDR, the total export value nearly reaches IDR 44 billion. "We are delighted to bring our high-quality Nutrifat Ca-84 and range of animal food products to Japan and Vietnam," he stated following the export release in Serpong, South Tangerang Regency, Banten. According to the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Indonesia, Harvick Hasnul Qolbi, Indonesia has the potential to become a livestock feed producer by actively seeking international market opportunities. He emphasized Indonesia's abundant natural and human resources, suggesting that these could position Indonesia as a global livestock feed producer.

Harnessing these potentials, Indonesia could export various global needs, thereby benefiting farmers and breeders in the upstream sector. "This is a breakthrough because we know that the Japanese market is very difficult to penetrate. Alhamdulillah, now we can enter," added Harvick. This export endeavor was made possible due to the Indonesian Delegation's visit to Japan in early December 2023. During the meeting, PT. Nutricell signed an agreement with Japan Nutrition, Co. Ltd. for the sale of livestock feed supplements worth USD 3 million.  "All orders will be delivered in several stages," stated Nasrullah, Director General of Livestock and Animal Health of the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) of Indonesia. He explained that while much government attention has been directed towards the food sector to meet global food demands, the non-food sector also significantly contributes. Kementan RI noted that the non-food sector's contribution reached 165,022 tons or 35% of the total livestock export achievement in 2023, totaling 470,119 tons. "Hence, the non-food sector can be further explored for expanding target markets and increasing export volumes," Nasrullah concluded.
