Aceh Makes Inaugural Export of 750 Kg of Clams to Vietnam

In a groundbreaking move, Aceh has successfully exported 750 kilograms of clams to Vietnam. This historic export was carried out by CV Siti Ayu Persada, involving two types of clams, namely blood clams and blue clams, totaling 750 kilograms packed in 33 boxes. The clams were sourced from various regions in Aceh, including Langsa, Aceh Tamiang, Aceh Besar, and Sumatera Barat. Shohirin, the Director of CV Siti Ayu Persada, expressed that this marks the company's maiden export, emphasizing that previous fishery exports were conducted through other companies. The demand for seafood exports is notably high in the market, reaching up to one ton per day, with Vietnam, Malaysia, and Singapore being key export destinations. Shohirin acknowledged the natural production of these fisheries, resulting in a limited supply of clams. Despite the burgeoning demand, the current clam collection is insufficient to meet export market requirements. He stressed the need for clam cultivation efforts to bridge this gap and satisfy the growing demand for seafood exports. The Director further revealed the company's strategic plans to engage in clam cultivation and explore additional fisheries to meet the demands of the export market. This initiative aligns with the objective of enhancing the natural production capacity to keep pace with the escalating requests for seafood in international markets.

This inaugural clam export signifies a significant milestone for Aceh's seafood industry, reflecting the region's potential to contribute to the global seafood trade. As the market demand continues to rise, the implementation of sustainable aquaculture practices will be essential to ensure a stable supply chain, meeting the export needs and further bolstering Aceh's position in the international seafood market.
