Indonesia is witnessing a growing trend towards eco-friendly living, prompting shifts in consumer preferences. This movement has created a niche market for sustainable products, particularly wooden utensils, as exemplified by Nicoles Natural, founded in 2012 and focusing on wooden products since 2017. The Bandung-based brand commits to sustainable living, offering four product lines: wooden eating utensils, healthy food, natural aromatherapy, and body products made from natural ingredients. At the recent UMKM EXPO(RT) BRILIANPRENEUR 2023, Nicoles Natural showcased its range of wooden eating utensils, noting a rising interest among consumers. Cathy Alexandra, the founder, highlighted the brand's specialization in wooden spoon products, catering to health-conscious individuals shifting to natural items sourced from certified wood by Perhutani. Their assortment includes spoons, chopsticks, forks, rice scoops, and straws, competitively priced from IDR 12,000 for a small spoon set. Notably, Nicoles Natural's products were featured as official merchandise at the MotoGP Indonesia 2022. Cathy noted a significant shift in their target market, initially catering to consumers aged 30 and above but now encompassing a broader demographic of environmentally aware individuals, including those under 30.
Having participated twice in UMKM EXPO(RT) BRILIANPRENEUR, Cathy expressed gratitude for BRI's support, underscoring their growth from being a part of a showcase to having their own booth this year. Nicoles Natural's production capacity ranges from 5,000 to 10,000 units for small wooden spoons monthly and several hundred units for larger ones. Their annual sales revenue from these products has reached billions of rupiah. These products are marketed both offline and online domestically, expanding to Jakarta, West Java, Bali, and globally to South Korea. Looking forward, Cathy aims to expand the business globally, leveraging platforms like BRILIANPRENEUR. This year's event concluded with a business matching commitment worth USD 81.3 million or IDR 1.26 trillion, signaling significant economic potential. Sunarso, BRI's Director, emphasized broader goals beyond boosting sales, focusing on financial inclusivity and enhancing financial literacy across Indonesia.
